Farm2People is a food justice oriented non-profit, focused on securing local harvests and fighting hunger. We believe in healthy soil, prioritizing small- and mid-sized farms, lifting up disadvantaged growers, and providing nutritious food to food seekers.

Farm2People’s mission is to secure local harvests and fight hunger in Greater Los Angeles. We source surplus produce from independent, California farmers within 400 miles or less of central Los Angeles. We use that produce to fight hunger within the densely populated urban areas of Greater Los Angeles. We are a mission-driven, value chain coordinator.

Our work is farmer-first. We believe that farmers are essential for a food-secure future. Farmers are also on the front lines of climate mitigating solutions. That’s why we promote regenerative farming practices with every dollar spent.

Farm2People provides no-cost, traceable, local fruits and vegetables to underserved communities in Greater LA. We match culturally appropriate supply to specific food-seeking communities.

CLIMATE SMART, REGENERATIVE FARMING

We believe in building up soil health and in keeping our air, waterways and soils clean of harmful, fossil-fuel based chemicals. We know that regenerative farming is an integral part of a food and climate secure future. That’s why we lift up regenerative practicing growers so they can resist the harmful methods of large scale industrial farming.

COLLABORATIVE, COMMUNITY DRIVEN SOLUTIONS

Farm2People connects the dots between farm and community. We are filling in the gaps of our local food supply chain, rather than doubling existing efforts. We locate farm surplus, purchase produce, transport and deliver to hunger action nonprofits and CBOs in Greater LA. We are an end to end direct action collaborator.
